Reggie Bush and the Dolphins won Sunday for Tony Sparano

Todd Bowles is the interim head coach of the Miami Dolphins, and he probably doesn't care much how or why he got his first head coaching win — just that he got it.

That's good, because according to star (a less ridiculous label now than it would've been a year ago) running back Reggie Bush, the Dolphins got the win for their old coach more than their new one.

"He's a good coach [recently fired head coach Tony Sparano], and an even better person. Couldn't be happier to be able to know a guy like coach Sparano," Bush said. "We all wanted to get this win for coach Sparano today. This win was for him."

Unfortunately for Reggie and any other Dolphin who really loved coach Sparano, they won't get a chance to save his job with a late-season surge. Sparano was canned a week ago, so no one in the Dolphins organization's going to have to make that decision. The more Reggie Bush talks about him, though, the more you get the feeling they'd have liked to save his job.

"[I] told him that I really appreciated him for bringing me in here, for believing in me, for giving me this opportunity to come here. Because if it wasn't for him believing in me, I wouldn't be here. I don't know where I'd be, and I appreciate him for a lot and I told him that and I thanked him and look forward to working with him again in the near future, wherever that may be."

Bush should be appreciative. Sparano tabbed him as the Dolphins every-down back when no one else was even that excited about having him as a third-down back. Through 14 games, Bush has 973 rushing yards, along with 41 receptions and 270 receiving yards.

They're not numbers that make anyone forget about Marshall Faulk, but they're better than what was expected by pretty much everyone. Everyone but Tony Sparano, that is.

Gracias, Larry Brown Sports.
