The biggest sports media story of the last few weeks has been the release of "Sweetness," Jeff Pearlman's exceptional new biography of Walter Payton. It's an honest look at the life of the Chicago Bears legend, and by "honest" we mean "warts and all." Payton was a fantastically complex figure, and Pearlman does an outstanding job of bringing his story to light. In our conversation, we talk of Payton's life, of course, but also the blowback he received from Chicago fans when they learned that this wouldn't be simply a glorification of Payton's life.
