An absurd letter written to Arsenal that got a great response from the club

A while back we featured a very successful Football Manager player's application to Middlesbrough for their vacant manager's position and the club chairman's fantastic replay. Along similar lines to that correspondence, Fraser Syme has written an as yet unpublished book aptly entitled "My Book of Absurd Letters to British Football Clubs." One of those absurd letters was written to Arsenal under the pseudonym "Struan Marjoribanks" and addressed the concern of slightly mean songs sung by the club's supporters.

Here's Struan's letter to the club about his son Daniel, a sensitive Hibernain fan...

When Fraser/Struan failed to receive a reply from Arsenal, he also wrote the Premier League, who then contacted Arsenal, who then forwarded their original letter to Struan that was apparently lost by a postman somewhere. Here's Arsenal customer service manager Penny Downs' great response to Struan's issue...

Included with the letter and Penny message that young Daniel should have a laugh at Arsenal the next time they lose were photos of Tomas Rosicky, Eduardo and Robin van Persie, along with the Inside Arsenal magazine. Of course, Struan had to thank her for this goodwill gesture. And mention the fact that Arsenal lost to Manchester United later that month. He did both here:

You can see the full correspondence between Struan, Arsenal and the Premier League at Fraser's website, as well as some other great samples of his absurd letters.
